This rose was one that was saved from a property that was to be razed to the ground (less the structure on premises). My aunt and uncle offered to allow us to dig up the roses so we could save as many as we could. We are unsure if this was one created by the owner as we found others growing from the property that appeared to be in their infancy. This bloom reminds me a cabin fire with its dark edges and lighter interior. Its dark leathery leaves provide a strong contrast to its bloom.
