Rose Seedling Update

We are have reached a plateau this week. After parabolic growth in successful seedlings, we have finally slowed down. I attribute this to the week of warm weather we had and now we are walking back into colder temperatures. After this week we expect to have seedlings popping up much more slowly until at least mid-April. Our overall success rate so far is at 10.1%, which greatly exceeds our 4% expectations. As of this publication date, we have 231 seedlings pop-up. We have transferred 144 rose seedling starts into new, larger containers and we will likely be transferring these into larger containers in the coming weeks. We are now very hopeful for first year flowers!!! We expect to have our cutoff be 300 before we begin to cull the rest of the seedlings. Our fingers are crossed that we continue with our great luck this year.
